For the safety of students, all drivers are expected to observe and obey posted speed limit signs on campus as well as no parking or no stopping areas. Please do not deviate from the paths shown on the parking/drop off maps. If student drop off is made as efficient as possible, it requires everyone’s cooperation. This applies to students, parents, visitors and staff. Students who drive to school must have an assigned parking spot and an active parking pass to display.
All campus guests are required to check in at either the church or school office (depending on building visited). Please bring your state-issued photo ID and proceed to the receptionist to check in. You will be required to surrender your ID for the duration of your visit on campus. You will be given a visitor badge that must be displayed at all times. For the safety and security of students and faculty, all visitors must be prepared to follow this procedure upon arrival to campus. Any questions or concerns can be addressed to the school office.
All doors on campus are locked at 8:15 am and remain locked throughout the school day and evening. To gain access to the building, please go to the front courtyard main entrance. The receptionist will buzz you into the building from the center doors. Parents, DO NOT attempt to enter any other door on campus. For the safety and security of all students, you will not be admitted and referred to the center lobby entrance. Do not tap on the doors expecting a teacher/student to come open the door; this disrupts the nearby classrooms and will not gain you access. Again, questions may be directed to the school office.
WEATHER / NATURAL DISASTERS
In the event of inclement weather, the school’s policy is to follow Prince George’s County School’s release/closings. Follow weather events on WTOP news radio (103.5 FM) or bookmark their school closing page. A banner will be posted at the top of this site’s homepage with campus status. Any additional information that may be required in the event of a closing/delay will be posted on this page. A one-call will also be issued to all parents, faculty and staff with school status. Parents, please use your own discretion when attempting to bring your students to campus during inclement weather/natural disasters. Please be safe rather than on-time.
The school does have natural disaster plans in place for any imaginable event or incident. There will be sporadic drill events throughout the school year to make sure students and faculty are prepared and comfortable with what to do to ensure the safety of all persons on campus. If parents would like to get involved in drills, planning or supplies, you are welcome to contact the school office or our Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF).
All students, regardless of age or grade, must be in appropriate designated areas at all times during the school day and during before/after school activities. Students who are not picked up or ride a bus home at the end of the day must report to either a coach/supervisor of a previously approved activity or check into aftercare. In order for RBS to ensure the safety of all students, there are no exceptions to this policy.
Athletic facilities and playgrounds are intended for RBS students and staff use only. Exceptions to this policy can only be approved by the administration. Tailgating is not allowed before, during, or after sporting events.
