Dr. Tarik Harris is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and a proud Husband and father of two children. Dr. Harris is a man who leans on his faith daily and believes that he can do all things through Christ Jesus. Dr. Harris attended the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Rehabilitation Services. After entering the workforce, Dr. Harris decided to pursue his Master’s degree from McDaniel College, where he earned his Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. While serving as the Director of Admissions at Bowie State University, Dr. Harris pursued his Doctorate of Education degree from Morgan State University, where he graduated in 2006. Professionally Dr. Harris brings over 20 years of experience in working with students from the elementary to college level. As a former Teacher, School Counselor, Admissions Counselor and more recently Director of Admissions, Dr. Harris believes in academic achievement and excellence. As a follower of Christ, Dr. Harris is motivated and excited about utilizing his skill set, experiences and knowledge to facilitate the learning and spiritual development of each student. As the new Dean of Students, Dr. Harris would like to impact the Riverdale Community in a positive light, by shaping the culture and climate of self- monitoring, self-awareness, academic achievement and service to all.
As we approach the 2016/2017 academic school year, Dr. Harris is excited about challenging our students to embrace and accept the challenge of being the “BEST VERSION OF YOU!”

Dr. Harris’s favorite slogan, “ It’s cool to be smart”, “Be the best version of you and do not self-destruct”. In closing, as the new Dean of Students, I ask the Riverdale Family and Community to be involved, supportive, patient and prayerful. I am truly honored, blessed, thankful that God has placed me at Riverdale Baptist School during this season.
