Added Value
Lifetime friendships are formed through student body activities. Teammates and classmates often bond into lifelong relationships. A vital part of student life is the Student Government. Students learn leadership techniques which prepare them to be leaders of tomorrow. Other leadership opportunities are afforded through special classes and student body organizations.
- Special Art and Science Fairs, along with the state and national fine arts competition, offer the students a wide range of activities to consider.
- Caring teachers are the heart of RBS. All faculty are professionally prepared, love their students and teach in their field of expertise. Teachers make extra time available to help, nurture and encourage their students.
- Spiritual development is a vital part of the RBS experience. The focus is on daily Bible classes, weekly chapels and the example of a godly faculty and staff. All of these contribute to helping the student develop godly moral values and a Christian world view.
Course Selection Information
Correct course selection is the basis for a successful school year, graduation in the diploma program of choice and adequate preparation for college. Each student should choose one of the diploma programs at the beginning of the freshman year. Students who demonstrate academic promise prior to their freshman year are encouraged to pursue either the academic track or the honors track of the College Preparatory Diploma Program. Because of the requirements of the College Preparatory Diploma program, it may not be possible for a student to change to this program after the sophomore year.
Diploma Programs
College Preparatory (26 credits): This diploma is designed for students who need an academically challenging curriculum in preparation for post econdary education. Students may choose courses from either the academic or honors tracks. Both tracks are challenging, and the students who successfully complete them will be scholastically ready for the demands of college. The GPA for Honors and Advanced Placement courses is weighted, providing students the opportunity to increase their grade point average.
General (24 credits): This diploma program is designed to give students an educational experience that is challenging and which will help them meet requirements for admission to 4-year colleges if they select their courses with college admission requirements in mind. This diploma does not require foreign languages, SAT prep or introduction to psychology.
Community Service: 100 hours required at graduation.
