Substitute Teacher Responsibilities:

The substitute teacher shall prayerfully help students learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christians to the praise and glory of God.

Substitute Teacher Job Duties:

  • Must be on time and prepared for all classes
  • Provide proper supervision for all classes
  • Ability to conduct oneself in a professional and Christ-like manner
  • Ability to carry out the teacher’s instructions
  • Ensure that class time is productive and that students are managed well
  • Must keep accurate attendance
  • Must keep the classroom clean
  • Communicate any behavior or problems to the teacher or principal
  • Maintain a personal appearance that is a Christian role model of cleanliness, modesty, good taste, and in agreement with school policy
  • Use acceptable English in written and oral communication. Speak with clear articulation.
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school

Basic Requirements:

  • Be a born-again Christian who is called of God to the teaching ministry
  • Classroom teaching experience
  • Knowledge of computer technology

School Nurse Responsibilities:

To promote and facilitate an optimal level of health within the school setting, including the prevention of illness and injuries.

School Nurse Job Duties:

  • Develop policies, procedures, and work standards for the school health program
  • Monitor compliance of school health program with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies
  • Interpret health mandates, recommendations, and trends to school personnel
  • Negotiate professional and medical services essential to the school health program
  • Provide first aid care and medically prescribed services
  • Maintain security of school health supplies
  • Serve as a resource person on health issues and crisis management
  • Provide professional health leadership to administrators and school staff
  • Coordinate or provide training in First Aid, CPR, and First Responder program for required staff
  • Screen and conduct health appraisals on students as required. Provide follow-up when necessary.
  • Implement communicable disease control, including monitoring, surveillance, and participating in disease prevention and outbreak management
  • Correspond with parents on health needs of children
  • Coordinate immunization program consistent with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies
  • Prepare annual reports regarding immunizations, vision, hearing, scoliosis, etc. as required by law
  • Know the procedures for dealing with emergency situations
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the administration
  • Reports directly to the Office Manager

 Basic Requirements: Certification in Nursing or Med Tech

  • Must be thorough and attentive to detail
  • Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Sensitivity and understanding
  • Knowledge of medicine
  • Ability to work well with others

  • Integrate Biblical principles and perspectives throughout all curriculums from a Biblical worldview
  • Maintain a personal appearance that is a Christian role model of cleanliness, modesty, good taste, and in agreement with school policy
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies
  • Use acceptable English in written and oral communication; speak with clear articulation
  • Demonstrate proficient active listening skills to understand and adapt to students’ various learning needs
  • Demonstrate excellent organization and time management skills
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and assessments that are in accordance with established procedures

The teacher prepares students for meaningful lives by contributing to their educational and social development.

Teacher Job Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to teach general music to elementary students, which include, but is not limited to vocal and instrumental instruction
  • Ability to organize, coordinate and orchestra semester musical performances
  • Integrate Biblical principles and perspectives throughout all curriculum(s) from a Biblical worldview
  • Maintain a personal appearance that is a Christian role model of cleanliness, modesty, good taste, and in agreement with school policy
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies

  • Ability to develop and implement a wide variety of appropriate instrumental activities for students of varying abilities and talents
  • Ability to organize, coordinate and orchestra semester musical performances
