In the Riverdale Baptist Middle School (RBMS), Christ is the center of all things, and the Word of God is the foundation for every subject. 2 Timothy 3:14-15 states, “But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”

The middle school years are a time of transition from elementary school as well as a time of preparation for high school. It is a time of change which affects each student spiritually, emotionally, socially, physically, and academically. Hence, the goal of RBMS is to provide students with an exceptional and comprehensive biblically-integrated education to equip each student to excel, to impact their world for the glory of Christ, and to fulfill God’s purpose for their lives. To accomplish this goal, RBMS faculty and staff are committed to providing a loving, caring, and warm environment that is conducive to developing strong study skills, solid work habits, self-confidence, positive peer interaction, and an excitement about all facets of the middle school life.

Here at RBMS, we believe in the holistic person. Therefore, it is important for each child to have an opportunity to explore various learning techniques that involve all five of their sensory perceptions, as well as provide a curriculum that is challenging, yet not overwhelming. Further, students are able to engage in hands-on activities in most of their classes; use the latest technology (iPads and ActivBoards) as each teacher integrates them into their classes; participate in field trips, class demonstrations, and science labs. In addition to the core curriculum which includes Bible, students can enroll in STEM/Robotics, choir, band, drama, foreign language classes, American Sign Language, art, coding, and physical education. RBMS also offers students the opportunity to explore several different clubs and a host of sports, for both boys and girls, that spans from fall to spring.

Prayer is an essential part of each class, and God’s Word is incorporated into each subject. Students are able to use their gifts and talents to minister during chapel which is held once a week. RBMS is devoted to helping each student become viable citizens in their school, community, and church.
